Ch15 — Peal Imperative: Exercises

← Back to lesson

Exercise Description
Peal Imperative Drill This exercise presents twenty Peal imperative verb forms drawn from the Biblical Aramaic corpus (Daniel and Ezra) and the standard imperative paradigm. For each form, students identify the three-letter root, give the full PGN (person, gender, number), and translate the form as a command. The drill covers all four persons of the imperative paradigm (2ms, 2fs, 2mp, 2fp) and includes both strong roots and the major weak-root classes introduced in BBA Chapter 15. Items 17–20 are negative imperative constructions (אַל + jussive; לָא + imperfect).
