Ch16 — Peal Infinitive Construct: Exercises

← Back to lesson

Exercise Description
Peal Infinitive Drill This exercise presents twenty Peal infinitive construct forms drawn from the Biblical Aramaic corpus (Daniel and Ezra) and the standard infinitive paradigm. For each form, students identify the three-letter root, identify any attached prefix (לְ, כְּ, בְּ, or none) and explain what it adds semantically (purpose/complement, temporal "when," bare verbal noun), and translate the full infinitive phrase. The drill covers strong roots, all major weak-root classes introduced in BBA Chapter 16, and includes three Haphel infinitives (items 18–20) as a preview of Ch21.
