A cross-corpus study of the four prayer terms Paul uses in 1 Timothy 2:1 — δέησις (supplication), προσευχή (prayer), ἔντευξις (intercession), εὐχαριστία (thanksgiving) — plus their corresponding verbs. Traces Hebrew roots through the LXX into the NT.
