Ch17 — Peal Participle: Exercises

← Back to lesson

Exercise Description
Peal Participle Drill This exercise presents twenty Peal participle forms drawn from the Biblical Aramaic corpus (Daniel and Ezra) and the standard participle paradigm. For each form, students identify (1) whether the participle is active (qāṭēl pattern) or passive (qəṭīl pattern), (2) the three-letter root, (3) the gender and number (ms / fs / mp / fp), and (4) translate the form. The drill covers strong roots, all major weak-root classes introduced in BBA Chapter 17, both absolute and determined states, and all four gender-number slots of the paradigm.
